Bass Tournament winners! Print E-mail

Glenn Browning and Jeff Ensley15.74 pounds of Bass won Glenn Browning and Jeff Ensley, first prize on Saturday at the 15th Annual Bass Tournament. Glenn also won biggest fish weighing in at 6.31 Lbs.  The tournament was threatened with thunder storms but we were fortunate the rain held off until all the volunteers had made it back to their homes and only the fishermen were left out in the rain. We had 43 boats participate, and lots of help with the tournament from our Board members.  Thank you to Joe Davenport, fish master for the weight in, and to all the participants.  95.1FM came out on Saturday afternoon too with the prize patrol and music. It turned out to be a great day.

2nd place Joe & Timothy Davenport, of Hayesville; 3rd Heath Pack of Mineral Bluff, GA, & Trevor Prince of Blue Ridge, GA; 4th Todd & Ellis Blazer of Sylva, NC, 5th James Burress & Doug Wells of Canton, NC.

The Bass tournament is first event of the year for the Chamber and we could not make it possible without the help of our volunteers. HUGE thanks to you all. Josh Ashe, ReMax/Oak Forest Realty, chaired the event with the help of Sherry Rodriguez, Take-A-Break Portables, and co-chair.  Sherry also set up one of her tents she rents out, so that we would not get rained on. Also, thanks to those of you that helped on Friday night setting up and Saturday at the tournament itself at 5AM, and tearing down Saturday afternoon. You know who you are but for those who don’t:  Mary & Butch Wiegold, Hwy 69 Storage; Bryan Lunsford, Nantahala Bank; Butch Freeman, Cardinal Systems GroupMike Faggard, ReMax/Oak Forest Realty; Linda Godwin, First Citizen Bank; Suzi Herbert, Individual member, David Wallace, Mountain County Contracting and John Dillon, and Josh Ashe’s wife Allison.
