The Chamber would like to express their gratitude to the Peacock Playhouse for allowing this event to be held there. The stage was a perfect setting and Johnny Scroggs from Appalachian Sounds took care of all the lighting and sounds for the event. We could not have had such a successful pageant without Johnny and the Peacock Playhouse. We are already making plans for next year‘s pageant which will be held in November of 2012.

Each girl first introduced herself and gave the judges information about their interests and dreams. The second time on stage each contestant was asked one question by each judge, which pertained to the information they had provided on their application. All were impressed with the poise and self-confidence, which each girl demonstrated while on stage. The judges were hard pressed to pick a winner in each division but they finally came to a decision and announced Jade Stiles the Queen for the 5 – 9 ages with a tie for runner up between Lanee Alberta and Abby Joyce. Isabella Richter was crowned Queen and Kaitlyn Edwards the runner up for the 10 – 13 age groups.

Each Queen will represent The Clay County Chamber of Commerce at all Chamber events and will be available to attend other community events. 2012 will be a busy year for the girls but they will be able to learn more about their community and have the opportunity to become involved in various activities. The girls will also pick one of their favorite charities and the Chamber will help them in promoting and supporting that Charity.

The Chamber would like to thank each girl for her participation in this event and for all the supporters that came out to cheer them on. The Queens will reign for one year and will crown the girls at next year’s pageant.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS.
